Why Join

Networking should be worth the time you give it

Most of us have sat through the version that isn't.

A room of people taking turns describing what they do. A pile of cards you will never call. A vague sense that you should keep going because that's what people say you should do.

The problem isn't the people. It's the format. Nobody learns how you think from sixty seconds about what you sell.

So this one is built differently. The same group meets every week, which means relationships get past introductions and into something real. Half an hour of every meeting is set aside for actual conversation rather than announcements. And when someone has the floor to teach, the point is that you learn something — not that they get to advertise.

What you'll actually get out of the room

Not promises. Just what showing up reliably tends to produce.

People worth coming back forThe same faces every week. Relationships that get past the handshake, because they have time to.
Conversations that go somewhereReal business friction, talked about out loud by people who have hit the same thing.
Things you didn't know you needed to knowA dozen professions in one room is a lot of practical knowledge, freely shared.
Professionals you'd feel fine callingNot names on a list. People whose judgment you have watched enough to trust it.
Being known for more than a pitchA group that understands what you actually do, in enough depth to explain it to someone else.
A local community, not a card exchangeA standing group of Flagstaff business people who know each other and want each other to do well.

What stronger relationships can do for your business

Once people genuinely understand your work, several useful things follow.

Referrals get better, not just more frequent. A member who understands your business refers the right person — the one whose problem you actually solve — instead of anyone who vaguely fits.

You get regular, natural chances to demonstrate what you know. Not in a pitch, but by explaining something useful to a room of people who then remember that you were the one who made it make sense.

And once Groups are configured, your professional category is protected inside your home Group. You are not competing for attention with three people who do what you do.

Learning, assessment, referrals and local connection

Better-qualified introductionsFrom people who know your work well enough to explain it accurately.
A protected seatOne seat per profession in your home Group, once Groups are configured.
Room to show your expertiseRecurring opportunities to teach something useful rather than pitch.
Practical learningA rotating set of business topics, drawn from real member needs.
A closer look at your businessMembers receive a complimentary Professional Strategic Systems Assessment.
Wider local presenceRelationships across the whole Flagstaff Chapter as it grows, not just your own room.

What we will not claim: a number of leads, an amount of revenue, or a guaranteed volume of referrals. Those depend on you, on the room, and on time.

How It Works

What makes Visibility Groups different

Four structural choices, each made on purpose.

01Professionally facilitatedSomeone is responsible for the room working — the agenda, the introductions, the follow-through — so it doesn't depend on whoever happens to be energetic that week.
02Teach, don't pitchSpeaking time exists so members can demonstrate expertise by explaining something genuinely useful. Not to run a commercial.
03Exclusive in your Group, connected across your ChapterYour category is protected in your home Group. The wider Chapter is there to add relationships, not to guarantee territory.
04Referrals based on fitQuality matters more than quota. A referral sent to hit a number is worse than no referral at all.

How the 90-minute meeting works

One hour of structure, half an hour of actual relationship building. Both parts are deliberate.

First ~60 minutes

Structured

  • Introductions
  • Wins and referrals since last time
  • A real business friction, discussed out loud
  • Resources and useful connections
  • A short piece of learning or discussion
  • Member expertise, where it fits
Final ~30 minutes

Relationship building

  • Open networking
  • A one-to-one, right then
  • A small-group conversation
  • Or scheduling one for later in the week

It is not ninety minutes of presentations, and it is not ninety minutes of mingling. The structure exists so the conversation has somewhere to start.

Your Group and the wider Flagstaff Chapter

Exclusive in your home Group. Connected across your Chapter.

Once Groups are configured, you hold the seat for your profession inside your home Group. That is a seat, not a territory: it does not give you ownership of Flagstaff, and it does not stop a professional in your field from holding the equivalent seat in a different Group.

That is deliberate, and it works in your favour more than it might first appear. A second Group means more relationships across the market, a referral that lands on the wrong side of town has somewhere to go, and your Chapter keeps growing without your own room getting too large to work.

During the founding period
  • Duplicate professions are welcome. Two electricians at the same meeting is useful information, not a problem.
  • Nobody gets a category seat by arriving first.
  • The launch period is partly how we work out how many Groups Flagstaff can support, and who fits where.
What You'll Learn

What we'll talk about

Visibility Groups does not hand people a microphone so they can run an advertisement. The learning slot exists so you can teach something useful — and so the room gets to see how you think.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. Anyone can look up what a roofer or an attorney or an accountant does. What a potential referrer actually wants to know is different: how does this person think? What do they notice that I wouldn't? Can they explain something complicated without making me feel stupid? Would I be comfortable sending my sister to them?

A pitch claims competence. Teaching something useful lets people watch it.

For example
  • A roofer explaining how to tell an urgent roof problem from a cosmetic one.
  • An attorney explaining the contract mistake small businesses make most often.
  • An IT provider explaining why most business backups aren't what their owners think they are.

Nobody in those examples sold anything. All three are now the person you'd call.

Topics we expect to come back to

Themes rotate and evolve, drawn from the facilitator, from members, and from guests with real expertise. This is not a fixed syllabus.

We take time to understand your business

Members receive a complimentary Professional Strategic Systems Assessment.

We would rather understand your business than memorise your service list. The assessment is a structured look at how your business is actually working — where things run well, where there is friction, and where something is harder than it needs to be.

It is useful to you on its own. It also makes the room better at referring you, because the person connecting you to someone else understands what you actually do.

There is no obligation to purchase Fultz Visibility services afterward. Not a soft obligation either — membership is not conditional on buying anything, and a member who never becomes a client is a member in good standing.

What we ask from members

Nothing unreasonable, and nothing hidden.

  • Show up consistently. The value is cumulative.
  • Build actual relationships, not attendance.
  • Learn what the other members do, properly.
  • Give legitimate introductions and referrals where they genuinely fit.
  • Take part in the relationship half of the meeting, not just the structured half.
  • Respect the category protection other members hold in your Group.
  • Observe whatever professional and ethical duties your own field places on you.
  • Bring something useful to the room.
On referrals
  • Quality matters more than quota. A referral invented to satisfy a number is worse than none.
  • No member is ever required to refer work to Fultz Visibility.

About membership

Visibility Groups is an ongoing paid membership. The options, the terms and the cost will be explained clearly and in full before anyone is asked to make a decision — and the founding process all happens before that point.

We are not publishing numbers yet, because the founding meetings and the venue arrangements will tell us things we would rather know before we set them.

FAQ

Questions people ask

What is Visibility Groups?+

A Fultz Visibility program that builds small, professionally facilitated local business communities. A group of business owners and professionals meets weekly, gets to know each other's work properly, learns something useful, and refers business with confidence.

Who is this for?+

Flagstaff-area business owners and professionals whose work benefits from relationships and referrals — trades and local services, professional services, and the range of local businesses in between.

When is the Flagstaff Founding Preview?+

The date, time and venue are being finalized. They will be announced on this page as soon as they are confirmed.

What will the Preview cost?+

$5 admission, once registration opens. A small real commitment that helps us plan around people who genuinely expect to be there.

What happens after the Preview?+

If you want to continue, you are invited into the formal Guest Meeting pathway — and that first full meeting is complimentary.

Do I have to become a member?+

No. The Preview is a look at the model, not a commitment. Plenty of people will come once, decide it isn't for them, and that is a perfectly good outcome.

Can two people in the same profession attend the Preview?+

Yes. Duplicate professions are genuinely welcome while the Chapter is forming — it helps us understand what Flagstaff can support.

Does attending reserve my profession?+

No. Registering for or attending the Preview does not reserve or guarantee a professional category seat.

How does professional exclusivity eventually work?+

Once Groups are configured, you hold the seat for your profession inside your home Group. It is a seat, not a territory — it does not restrict us from forming additional Groups in Flagstaff, and someone in your field may hold the equivalent seat in another Group.

Is this only about referrals?+

No. Referrals are part of it, but so are the relationships, the learning, and knowing a group of local professionals well enough to call them.

Do I have to buy Fultz Visibility services?+

No. Membership is never conditional on buying anything from us, and no member is required to refer work to us either.

What is the Professional Strategic Systems Assessment?+

A structured look at how your business is actually working — what is running well, where there is friction, and what might be worth strengthening. Members receive one, and there is no obligation to purchase anything afterward.

What happens during a normal meeting?+

About sixty minutes of structure — introductions, referrals and wins, a real business friction discussed openly, resources, and a short piece of learning — then about thirty minutes of intentional relationship building.

Do members give sales presentations?+

No. Speaking time is for teaching something useful. The idea is that people get to see how you think, which is what actually makes them comfortable referring you.
